Matthew
28:18–20 (NIV84) — 18 … Jesus
came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to
me. 19 Therefore
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
All of my Christian life, which
began at the age of 15, I have sought to be a disciple of Christ. A disciple is
a pupil or student. It means doing everything the Lord Jesus commands us to do.
Following the Lord Jesus brings me closer to the Lord and gives my life purpose
and fulfillment. In all my life and ministry, I try to submit everything I do
to the one all-important question, "Does this help make disciples?"
I am deeply passionate about
this, and it shapes everything I do. If you share my desire to draw closer to
the Lord Jesus Christ, know Him, follow Him, and serve Him, then please join us
at Holy Cross and walk His path with us.
On a personal note, I was
born in England, studied Theology at Oxford, was ordained in the Church of
England in 1978 and came to the USA in 1979. I have stayed here ever since. I
was supremely blessed to meet the girl of my dreams and marry her. We have two
sons and eight grandchildren (5 girls, 3 boys). One son and his family live in
Nolensville, TN, and the other with his family live in the countryside outside
of Philadelphia, next to Amish country.
I look forward to meeting
you and getting to know you at Holy Cross!
